Chapter 1 says that “At the end of the course, there is a project challenge for programming a realistic task with mobile robots: automated floor cleaning”. How do I get into this challenge? And how to get a certificate for the course?

I apologize for this glitch. It seems that this is a part of the course we are yet to implement. Really very sorry for this. Also, this course does not offer a certificate at the moment; courses offering a certificate have a bad to indicate this.
