I am a little disappointed with the Behavior tree course as well as ROS2 using Rust course. ROS2 using Rust course is not fully complete. It seemed like an incomplete course like some one has left it midway.
In Behavior Tree course the simulation is not working. Also, the build process takes too long and crashes midway multiple times.
I would really like it if someone tests these courses before they are released for students. I took the subscription to do both these courses and was not fully satisfied with them.
I really like TheConstruct, the courses and the community and want all of us to thrive together. I want to report these issues and would really like if some steps are taken to solve them as it will help all of us.
Sorry to hear that.
Both those courses are in the list to be fully remade becuase as you say they are not the best.
I totally agree that the RUSt course needs a complete remake, and the Behaviour tree is pretty old for today’s standards.
Thanks for the feedback and we take this feedback really seriously.
I’m sorry for your dissapointment. I have personally checked the issues you are mentioning in order to address them properly.
I can assure you that we extensively test the courses before publishing. However sometimes errors still slip in…
About the Behavior Trees course, the simulation works perfectly. The only thing is that for that course, the simulation doesn’t start automatically because you need to build it and then launch it yourself as explained in the notebook. If you follow the steps provided for that, everything.
The ROS2 with Rust (ROS2 Basics in 3 Days (Rust) course - hands-on | The Construct) is very simple because there is no more about ROS2 with Rust. What we teach in the course is what actually works in ROS2 with Rust. There is nothing more that really works, so we cannot teach more. I’m sorry if we miss-leaded you into thinking that we could teach more. If you visit the details page of the course, you will see that we indicate what it actually contains and that there are only 3 units.
