Don't see /scan or /cmd_vel topics under ros2 topic list for Rosject Unit 3 ROS2 in 5 Days

The instructions for the Rosject say to use /scan and /cmd_vel for wall following, but I don’t see those topics when I:

source /opt/ros/foxy/setup.bash
ros2 topic list

What should I do to get those topics listed as the instructions said they would be there?
