How goes to diferent folders with the shell

I just finish the python for beginers but I really don´t know what instructions type in the shell to go to diferent folders.

Hi @evaristobayonagomez,

Glad to hear that you just finished the Python course.

To move to different folders in the shell, use the cd Linux command, and the roscd ROS shortcut. Here some examples below:

user:~$ pwd # show the current directory (folder)
user:~$ ls # list the content of a directory
user:~$ cd catkin_ws/ # change to the specified subdirectory
user:~/catkin_ws$ ls
build devel src
user:~/catkin_ws$ cd src
user:~/catkin_ws/src$ ls
CMakeLists.txt services_quiz test.cpp topics_quiz will_this_save_on_timeout
Untitled.txt my_custom_srv_msg_pkg unit2
actions_quiz my_package unit_3_services
user:~/catkin_ws/src$ pwd
user:~/catkin_ws/src$ cd .. # move one level up in the directory tree
user:~/catkin_ws$ pwd
user:~/catkin_ws$ roscd topics_quiz # change to the folder of an existing package
user:~/catkin_ws/src/topics_quiz$ pwd
user:~/catkin_ws/src/topics_quiz$ ls
CMakeLists.txt launch package.xml src
