I don't know but help please (someone)

After multiple attempts, quiz 4.9 still stubbornly refuses to pass. Yet when I test my code locally, the robot performs the expected movement without any issues. I’ve double-checked the instructions several times, and I can confirm that I’m following them properly.

What’s most frustrating is that the so-called “artificial intelligence” (yes, I’m using quotation marks because there’s nothing intelligent about it in this case) doesn’t even provide a clear or meaningful explanation for why my code supposedly isn’t working.

To be absolutely sure the issue isn’t on my end, I tested several other codes:

  • a friend’s code,
  • code generated by ChatGPT,
  • and even the official solution from The Construct.

Of course, all of them work perfectly… when tested manually. But once inside the quiz, it’s a different story.

To make things even more absurd: during my second attempt, the AI didn’t even start properly — and still counted the attempt as used. Quite ironic when you only get 5 tries — a rule that makes no real sense, but hey, why not?

When launching the quiz, a little message pops up saying something like: “If you experience problems during testing, don’t hesitate to contact us.” I’d love to — but there’s absolutely no way to do that.

Sure, you can post on the forum to report platform bugs (which I’m trying to do), BUT EVEN THAT FEATURE IS BUGGED. This is the third time I’ve tried to send a message, and it just gets stuck loading forever. (Kind of reminds me of the endless loading during the auto-test of my code — poetic, isn’t it?)

Honestly, I’m starting to lose patience.

I’ve spoken with several friends, and they’ve all faced similar issues. Clearly, I’m not the only one.

My ROS2 training is 99% complete. All that remains is this quiz — and frankly, I think that’s where my progress will stop, thanks to a validation system that’s anything but reliable.

Hi,

I’m truly sorry you encountered that issue, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. If there’s anything we can do to make up for it, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

We’ve just fixed the problem and tested it using the same method you used to check it. It returned a perfect score of 10 out of 10, so everything now appears to be working as expected.

Once again, we’re really sorry for the trouble, and please let us know if there’s anything we can do to compensate for the mistake.

Best regards, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, Head of Research and simulation creation

Hello duckfrost2,
Thank you for your quick response. Would it be possible to reset the quiz so that I can complete it?

It seems that you have already done this for a fellow student who had the same issue as me:

Thank you in advance.
