Missing details of instructions 1.4 Create A Blob Tracking Package

Hi there,

Could you please add more details and instructions about this step?
What is meaning of"writing the RGB in average and the YUV values like in the file below."?

In the course content, we are supposed to use HSV color encoding. What do you mean by mentioning RGB? What is YUV?

There is no file below.

Create A Blob Tracking Package

Now, let’s create a package to launch all of the required software to track the red-haro-robot.

  • First, create a new package named my_blob_tracking_pkg, which depends on rospy.
  • Inside that package, create a directory named color_files and put the colors.txt file in it. Add the values you got in the previous step by writing the RGB in average and the YUV values like in the file below.

Hi, thank you for reporting this.

I have created and issue to solve as soon as possible, since it seems there are missing instructions/editing mistake.

We will notify you once this is done.

Hi,

We just corrected that error. It was something that was left form a previous version. In this cours ethis colors.txt is not needed, the HSV values are set directly in teh script. We added teh fixes and now if you clear you browser cache and reload the page, it should be fixed ;).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also you have available a newer version of this course for ROS2 which has extra features and AI , so have a look at it also

Thank you very much!

I have taken the foundation courses like Linux, Python, C++, ROS in 5 days (Python).

I am a bit confused now about what to learn next.
Shall I take ROS2 in 5 days and take all the courses related to ROS2 instead of ROS1?
Shall I stick to Python or do I also need to learn ROS C++ (or ROS2 C++)?

I have studied math, machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning at university but more about theory and foundations.
My main goal is to find an engineering job in a robotic company, preferably in the AI team.
I did my student work and internship about robotic control and vision for manipulators (research direction) and then I could only get interviews from robotic companies even though my program is board IT instead of robotics and I learned robotics completely by myself:joy:

Any advice would be appreciated.

HI Min Wang,

Thats great news! Well several things:

  1. I would not spend more time in ROS1, go to ROS2, unless you have some requirement to learn about ROS1. ROS2 in Five days is perfect for you.
  2. We are creating AI courses for Robotics continuously, so if you are interested in working there, drop me a message in my personal discord (gokiburigeemu) or email duckfrost@theconstruct.ai. Send your portfolio and CV ;).

Have fun and hope to hear from you soon
