ROS 2 on Macbook Pro M3

Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well.
I want to use reinforcement learning to control robots. My current laptop is pretty slow. Do you recommend buying a MacBook Pro with an M chip?
Also, I am kinda connecting ROS and Python to have an interaction between the robot and signals. I thought the Mac was better since I saw most software engineers and game developers using it.

Thanks

Hi @soroushzrz, people in the robotics world use PCs with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions more often.

Of course, the selection is subjective, since you can run ROS on Mac. But you probably won’t find as many resources on the internet.

Another great option is using Docker, which allows you to run pre-built ROS/ROS 2 Linux containers on any computer, like a Mac.
