I have same issue as in comment on youtube:

My robot will not launch with the launch. Everything is in the Gazebo but the robot. Also, the robot did appear once, and in the move the robot part of the video my commands to move the robot would not work.There seems to be a missing command that may be preventing the robot from launching."

Also there is window “Select a simulation”, but there are no options available in both dropdowns.

fixed after did:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

and then re-run course_install.sh
